Hiring Manager First
Find the decision-makers and reach out with a relevant reason to connect.
Now I help brilliant people stop being overlooked and show hiring managers exactly why they're worth talking to.
Hi, I'm Lucy. Former recruiter, hiring manager and search firm owner turned career coach. I've spent years seeing how hiring decisions really get made. Spoiler: submitting another hundred online applications usually isn't the answer.

Before coaching full-time, I built a career in recruitment, including ten years running my own search firm. I worked across technical and professional markets, partnering with employers and candidates internationally.
I saw extraordinary people missed because they couldn't explain their value quickly enough, didn't know the right decision-makers or were following advice that simply didn't reflect how hiring works.
So I switched sides. Today, I teach the strategies I learnt in recruitment, with a healthy dose of common sense and absolutely no advice to “just apply to more jobs”.

No endless CV tweaking. No crossing your fingers after every application. Just a more strategic way to get noticed, start conversations and interview well.
Find the decision-makers and reach out with a relevant reason to connect.
Give your job search structure, consistency and measurable momentum.
Make your CV, LinkedIn and achievements clear and commercially relevant.
Answer with confidence, read the room and make interviews a real conversation.
Whether you're trying to land a better role or build a business around your expertise, the principle is remarkably similar: the right people need to understand the value you bring.
I help experienced professionals uncover hidden opportunities, build a reputation that gets noticed, interview strategically and negotiate with confidence.
Explore career coaching →I help coaches and consultants get clearer on their positioning, create content that attracts the right people and build more consistent client acquisition.
Explore business coaching →Nothing beats hearing that someone has landed a role, negotiated a better offer or finally understands how to talk about what they do.
I've also been invited into conversations about careers, business and technology, including the AI Adoption Summit in London in June 2026, where I interviewed Liz Kendall, then Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology.
It was a brilliant opportunity to ask questions about how AI is changing the world of work. And yes, I brought my questions on my phone.
Beyond events, I share practical career advice on YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram, and have appeared in podcasts and published case studies.

I like straight answers, practical plans and a good laugh along the way. If something in your job search isn't working, I'll tell you, and we'll work out what to do differently.
Because I don't think career advice needs to sound like a management consultancy report. It should be useful, understandable and, ideally, leave you feeling a lot more capable than when you started.
When I'm not coaching or creating content, I'm usually getting on with real life, family and the endless balancing act of running a business.
Start with the advice, explore the coaching, or simply say hello on social. There's more than one way to work out what comes next.
